eu is not a plot to form a super state

Dear Sir,

Some of your correspondents are portraying a vision of the eu that contrasts with mine.

It is not some sinister plot to form a super state and do away with national culture and identity.

Rather, it is an attempt by sovereign states to forge alliances when it is in their interests to do so.

This is the meaning of subsidiarity that is a cardinal principle of the eu.

There might be some who have this larger vision and they must be countered.

This is better done by remaining in the eu than by leaving.

Do your readers really want some monster super state on their doorstep?
